Bright by Design started after I fell in love with some origami kusudama flowers on a wedding blog. I found the instructions and gave it a go myself and I loved the results, so I decided to make them for other people too.
Over the years I’ve done all sorts of crafts. From an early age I would turn my parents living room, dining room or kitchen (sometimes all three) into a mess of epic proportions, finding anything I could to make my next creation. Our village show provided the perfect opportunity to share what I had made and sometime I even won a prize or two!
As a grown-up (sort of!) parties have provided the perfect occasion to get crafting, and over the past couple of years I’ve taken up knitting too. Next on my list to conquer is crochet!
Bright by Design is the first time I’ve had the confidence in my crafts to sell them to other people. Every bouquet is made with love and a bit of artistic flair. I want to create something unique and beautiful every time. I am really excited about chatting to people about their ideas, whether it’s for a wedding, celebration, or just to live in their lounge, and as a result create something they will cherish for a long time to come.
For those who want to give it a go themselves, rather than buying a bouquet, I’m putting together a DIY section with instructions, ideas and details of the suppliers I’ve used. If you need a bit of help to get started I’m planning on running flower workshops in the North East in the near future, visit the events page for more details.
I also love to write so when I started Bright by Design I also started a blog, The Bright Bride, where you will find all things bright and bold with a hint of sparkle! thebrightbride.wordpress.com
When I’m not making things or writing blogs, my other passion is people and business which I work on with Mariposa Development.
